Before we even sacked Simon Davey I wrote on here that I hoped we would go out and actively recruit our next manager rather than sit back and sort through the applications that came in. It appears that is exactly what we have done. Mark Robins was identified as the primary target and, despite a few hitches, we went out and got him. Well done Barnsley FC, in my opinion that is exactly the right way to go, and I really hope this appointment works out for us all.
RE: agreed nt yep a few hitches... and even thought laureal and hardy gave us a few worries at times, they made a quick decision and acted upon it. WELL DONE LADS.
I agree with you Jay. For the record I believe he will do a good jobn and I am happy with his appointment.
A job well done by the board and Chairman! Thank you. I just hope he can be backed with a few loanees until the transfer window reopens. But sure this will have been discussed and agreed.
I think they deserve a lot of credit for the way they've done it. I wasn't in the Davey out crowd ... although I was coming to the view that it was inevitable it would be sooner rather than later.
I think they lokked at the fixture calendar, decided who they wanted and managed to get, and gotthe deal done without it impacting on any games. Fair play I say. Not the sort of planning and foresight we've seen before

The WAY they have done it may be good.......but what I want to know is.......WHY have they done it ? I haven't seen or heard anything from the club yet on WHY Barnsley Football Club targeted Robins as the next manager For Example, why have they gone for Robins, what are his strengths and why was he picked in preference to say Ince and more experienced managers such as Jewell ???
