Yes this happend in a field at the Back of Birdwell club,a field with a nice slope,but,it ended with a big hedge, now me and my pal had no sledge,so we found an old Pram a big one wit big springs,took the weels off,and hey Presto a super sledge,the only touble was once you got in the Pram you could not get out,,,,Well it was my turn,the runners were getting better the track ws clippery and Whoosh my mate set me off,,,,when i got to the hedge,the Pram stopped,but i did not,it threw me right into the hedge, i was coverd in cuts and bruises...No stick to the traditonal sledge...it looks lie your going to get some this winter.....

Tin Bath - with 8 kids in Remember 8 of us piling down a hill in a silver tin bath on the St Paul's church field in the late 70s/ early 80s. No idea where the bath had come from - but it could shift! Then some flashy kid came on with his new fangled plastic sledge ... before that everyone had wooden ones.
