As only just got back from London weekend... It was so frustrating how for 70 minutes we completely out-footballed and outplayed a Premiership side on their own ground and yet came away losing 3-0! We made them look stupid at times, but undid all the good work by two stupidly bad bits of defending. Gutted really, but proud of the way we played.
- Penalty was soft in the first place and Noble made the most of it. - We equalled them in all parts of the field except upfront, bellamy's pace alone was ace.
Bellamy Was utterly *****. That was the one good thing about the game, that he did nowt. That, the quality chants, and the hot women.
He is fast And yes you could see he was quick and lively, but his shooting and crossing was terrible. Sheep, sheep, sheep-shagger
True true Its a good job his shooting was terrible cos he is dangerous that lad But he is welsh so for an exception ill say hes = /poo
Barnsley were far better than Stoke and didnt deserve the 3-0 scoreline,Green made a couple of blinding saves in the second half to keep it at nil,it was a treat to see a good open game good luck for the rest of the season!
for 60 mins we played well and caused them a couple of problems, when we started to look a bit flat and tired Davey once again did nothing, no subs until the 85th minute was ridiculous. Once again he showed that once a match kicks off he has no influence on the game what so ever!! Oh and the clown was once again pitiful, how long do we have to suffer him for.
The thing is, we had a bench full of kids. Understand entirely why he didn't want to chuck them on both at 2-0 when we were playing well and still had a chance of getting back into the game, or at 3-0 when we were clearly rocking. Putting them on then could have led to a complete capitulation which would have done no-one any good at all. He did exactly the right thing leaving what experienced pros we had left fit on the pitch for as long as possible IMHO.
considering the amount of first teamers we had missing, I thought we gave an excellent account of ourselves. However, we had no quality in the final 3rd, and gave away a couple of very soft goals - just can't afford to do that against Premiership opposition.
Which begs the question though, when would he have used them? Had we been leading or level nearing the end would he have risked bringing them on and risk them throwing all the good work away? Or were they only there simply because we were so short of numbers and he never even contemplated using them at all, barring injuries?
Its the same when its not kids on the bench, leaves it until the players are dead on there feet and all momentum is gone before making a change. The Clown apart from the opening 20 mins when he won a few headers was awful AGAIN as he is every time he plays. When we go behind i have no confidence what so ever in Davy to turn things around, he looks like a rabbit caught in headlights.
I see where you're coming from, but on Saturday, he had his hands pretty much tied, squad was absolutely threadbare. He has to name somebody on the bench, but I'm assuming he was only intending to throw them on early in the case of an injury.
