Heard we are in for him, right back just recently left Northampton Town, don't know much about him tbh in terms of ability but experienced at this level.
Just looking on Northampton's forum. Mostly favourable what their fans are saying about him. He's a natural leader and can play anywhere across the back. They seem to think he's off to Burton though. He's been commuting to Northampton from Liverpool by all accounts so is wanting a move further north.
Don't know any of the background stuff Archey just been told we are in for him that's all. Looking at his stats looks to have a decent career across SPL, L1 & L2. It's a position we need to fill and looks more of a proper defensive full back first and foremost.
Wouldn't class Cotter, okeefe or Lofthouse being right backs capable of playing in a 4, the thought of it has me reaching for some ***t pills
Can't ever see Conor playing Cotter at RB in a four (I'd hope not anyway). Reckon Lofthouse might be midfield back up as he did well there at Burton (or he could be sold/loaned) and I also like to think we'll try to offload O'Keefe.
I'm not going to out someone on a forum, come on I'm not that silly. I'm very close to one of our ex players, employed another ex player still involved in football and know someone at the club, certainly won't be name dropping, but it's come from good stock shall we say.
On the same note, Mitch Pinnock was released by Northampton too. Weirdly, I think he’s someone I’ve liked the look of when he has played against us. Formally a winger, prior to Nolan’s arrival where he deployed him as a wing back. Could be a cheap back up option?
Can't remember which one of our front line it was in which result they came and got but Pinnock had him in his pocket, agree looked decent
Yeah, he was their best player against us. I can see him going to one of the better sides in the division.
Not disagreeing with that but they're all under contract so how can we afford to bring another right sided player in unless we're looking to move a couple of those players on. The squad needs reducing in size not increasing. I posted several times during last season and said it could take until summer 2026 to sort the mess out given the amount of players we have still under contract.
You may well be right. How many on here or beyond will be willing to give Conor the time needed - show of hands✋.
Cotter would have gone in January but got injured, think Lofthouse will be moved on if there's takers which shouldn't be difficult, they'll probably look to loan out Barratt.
It'd be strange to loan out Barratt given he's only got a year left on his contract, unless he's offered another one.
