He doesn't deserve to be abused if it's what he believes. However, teaching your child about history whilst dressed as a terrorist then posting it on social media isn't helping the situation either.
Whilst the abuse he gets is undeserved and largely perpetrated by little scrotes who wouldn't dare say it to his face, there's a difference between being attacked for not wearing a poppy - something which, whilst against his beliefs, he could choose to change - and being abused for the colour of your skin. That doesn't mean he shouldn't receive more support though.
Abusing him for being Irish. Bang out of order Giving him abuse for being a supporter of a terrorist organisation. Completely right. He deserves it. If a man from Afghanistan was called a p*** it would be out of order. If the same man was given dogs abuse for flying an Isis flag it's the correct response. James McClean has been largely abused for his support of a banned terror group that murdered children. He has also received a relatively small amount of a use for his nationality, caused directly by the ill feeling his disgusting beliefs have caused. One is perfectly acceptable, the other is unacceptable. The issue is as ever pretending they're both the same thing.
Saha was abused not because of anything he did but because of the colour of his skin. Mclean gets boo'd and abuse because of his actions and beliefs by not supporting the wearing of a Poppy etc. Personally I believe he is entitled to his opinion and beliefs but by default having a belief he will attract criticism of all forms. But his points about other players showing support for little Black squares etc and not him is wrong as they are saying they agree with anti Racism messages but are not saying they agree with his beliefs over Poppy wearing.
If he wants sympathy might I suggest he doesn't dress up as a murderer make some sick comment about educating his kids while dressed like that then publish it on social media. Maybe he should like some other players just quietly not wear the poppy and not try to make a political statement about not wearing it. A black player can't do anything about being black a player who openly supports a terrorist organisation could just shut the **** up. Maybe his team mates in the Republic of Ireland team aren't jumping up and down supporting him because they like me think he's just an odious attention seeking knob with views on a terrorist organisation they don't share, after all a large minority of the people killed by the IRA are Irish Catholics too.
Fair enough if he doesn't want to wear a poppy but he courts controversy by turning his back on the bugler playing the last post and standing yards away from his team mates. What does he expect when he does that in our country. Also, he forgets that lots of Irish died in the 1st World War which was the origination of the poppy wearing.
There are two issues here...1. Does Mclean deserve any kind of abuse for being irish -No 2. Does he deserve abuse for holding the views he does - No. If people disagree with his views they should confront him and argue. His personal behaviour, whilst it may be objectionable, does not negate those points
