What a performance, I thought the Cardiff game was good. Tonight, i've quite simply run out of superlatives. The first half was good, Bristol City are NO mugs, they are a good team - they won the 2nd division last season and were unbeaten up until tonight - it just goes to show the magnitude of this win, and the performance that went with it. The back 5 - IMMENSE, seriously - Foster, Souza, Nyatanga, Werling and Muller. Superb, everything, and i mean EVERYTHING that Bristol threw at us, we soaked up with ease. Muller didnt have many shots to save, mainly crosses and high balls, but the one he did save was a class save from an Elliot shot. His aerial prowess is awesome. The back 4, well - just superb. Midfield - McCann, Howard, Anderson, JCR - Again, brilliant - the only thing that was lacking was JCR's final ball, other than that - the guy ran his blood to water as did the rest of them. It was hard to pick the best out of the 3 (McCann, Howard, Anderson) but i'll pick Howard due to the fact that his goal was a peach, 20 yard curler into the far corner. Oakwell errupted. Mostto and Odejayi - started off well, never really looked fluent like the rest of the team but they worked hard and ran and ran and ran and ran. Mostto looked sharper, once he gets a goal he will be a good player. The football at times was scintillating, it was pure brilliance. And let me state again, Bristol City are a good team - we were just immense. The 2nd goal, an absolute thunderbolt from Werling which the keeper couldnt hold and Souza was first to react to send the ball high into the net and once again Oakwell went bananas. The last was like watching Arsenal, Muller caught a corner - bowled it straight out to Howard who ran 60 yards before sending a cross field pass to Devaney, he brought it down and with his second touch sent it scorching into the bottom corner past the keeper topping off a brilliant night - I hope there are many more to come. Absolutely superb. It just like watching Brazil. It is.
