This decision would only have been justified if Barnsley FC had been relegated and were struggling in League 1 again!!! The board clearly have not learnt from the mistakes of the past. Sack the manager create more instability and ***** football cos nobody knows whats going off! Footballing decisions should always be left in the hands of the manager untill intervention is unavoidable. I believe Andy Ritchie had earnt the right to choose his squad. The board should not have interfered with this whilst we are in the Championship by virtue of Andy Ritchie.
Bingo. Manager doesn't get involved in ticket pricing structures and marketing etc, board keep nose out of squad matters. As it should be.
So you believe this SQUAD is good enough to stay up? If you were to let a person manage your business, employing people that are obviously not upto the job, would you just keep waiting or would you attempt to do something to fix the situation?
RE: Narrow Maybe not, but it should. Can't see the board telling the likes of Ferguson, Wenger et al who they should be buying. You either trust your manager's judgement or you don't. If you don't, then sack him, but not because his judgement - as a professional manager who has played the game at the highest level - doesn't refelect yours as a fan.
RE: So you believe this SQUAD is good enough to stay up? hang on. What gives the board the right to butt in a this stage? Ritchie the first manager to last a full season and got us promoted first time around? What makes you think the board or some other manager they select can make better footballing decisions? Ritchie followed a string of managers who only took us in one direction. I know maybe bring back Nigel Spackman or our old mate Steve Parkin, theyd be happy enough to reenforce the squad with with ****!
RE: So you believe this SQUAD is good enough to stay up? Hang on yourself, it is clear to 90% of fans that our squad simply is not going to keep us in this league, and if you read between the lines AR was only willing to bring in Danny Cadamarteri before Thursday. No the board shouldn't interfere, but I believe this decision could be the one that gives us the best chance of staying in this league.
RE: So you believe this SQUAD is good enough to stay up? Well fair enough if you still think sacking the manager at the first sign of trouble is the best idea!I didnt send all those messages by the way.
RE: So you believe this SQUAD is good enough to stay up? Don't actually believe pulling the trigger at the first sign of trouble is the answer, however GS coming out on the radio last week was aimed at getting Ritchie to book his ideas up, which judging by Patrick Crynes interview he didn't do this week. We all know we needed strength in depth apart from Andy Ritchie
RE: So you believe this SQUAD is good enough to stay up? I don't believe thats true. Ritchie prob doesnt believe in bringing in players that he doesnt think will bring what he wants. Obviously.
