zenit are in internal turmoil as the Russian players led by Denisov are threatening to go on strike over the wages of Hulk and the other new signing whose name escapes me. Dropping like a stone in the league and must win tonight.

    Witsel.?

    Ok didn't know that Merde.
Surely they want these players to help them win in champ league more.

that was the idea, and the club have told the Russian players that the expected further progress in the champions league will offset the extra wages of the newbies and more, therefore they are on a bigger wedge. will post a link to the local paper here....

No idea. Definitely not at work, though. Honest.

Russia will be the next Premier League. Hundreds of mercenaries going over there for nothing but the cash, forcing out homegrown players and pricing fans out of the game.

think you could be right. At Zenit I used to pay less than a tenner for a top priced ticket, and could get a season ticket for around a hundred quid. Now it is around thirty quid a pop. Most of the other Russian teams including the Moscow ones still only charge a fiver or so but you have to remember this is a country where the majority of the p opulation are still very poor. Average attendances here are low enough as it is, only Zenit and Rubin get anywhere near capacity. Spartak average 12000 playing in the Luzhniki. Must be like a morgue. Personally I reckon the Russian league will become more like a version of the MLS with players going for one last pay day like Roberto Carlos. Cant imagine he went to Dagestan for eithrr its football heritage or its cuisine and shopping!

I am looking forward to that day coming... look at Serie A, was booming at the start of the 90's and then went into a decline. I would love to see the Premiership and its teams go to financial ruin.
