how can it be anything but the best-you can't have a success rate of more than 100%!!!!!!

"Following meeting with Peter Stacey of the Adult Learning Inspectorate - the further education equivalent of OSTED - Pat Lally, Education Officer at the Professional Footballers Association, told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk: "The results here at Barnsley Football Club are simply excellent and their 100 per cent success rate is one of the best, if not the best, in the country. The support given to the young players both from the Football Club and from its partnership with Barnsley College is first rate and these successes should be advertised a lot more."

It would merely be "one of the best"

if there are others with 100%

    Whats their definition of success?

Just curious like but I would have personally thought a success for a football acadamy was a player who on completion of his time there went on to a full time professional football contract.

Seems to me their definition of success is someone who gets to the end of the course without quitting or being thrown out not really a success in my book though.

RE: Whats their definition of success?

It's the adult learning inspectorate though and is in conjunction with Barnsley College, reading through that it appears that what they are judging is not the footballing side of the academy, it's the college work they also have to do so they have some academic qualifications if they don't make it as a footballer.
So our academy has a 100% success rate of preparing the players for not making it.....just as well really!
