Huddersfield and Sheff Wednesday (is my assumption) both tried to sign him: “.....two of the three recently promoted clubs rang me and offered me a ton of money but Barnsley weren’t in a position to do that. They can’t attract players through money so they have to do it through Keith’s ability to develop players." Puts into perspective the question on who we wanted to get promoted last season and for what reasons. Commercially speaking.
They were probably offering money they couldn't afford to buy him (Wendies that is, i hear cow's tits have got some money now though) Would have been a big signing if they had got him, would have been able to take the pi55 out f us so glad it did't happen. Fair play to the lad. He did say he would never move away from Barnsley to another Champ, only to the Prem, which he has done.
Any tarn fan that wanted Hudds & Wednesday to get promoted needs to be shot. "ooh we'll get a couple of extra derbies" Yes and outbid on players. Fcuks sake.
I remember saying at the time if Huddersfield come up they will have more money to spend than Wednesday and United. Low and behold, Norwood signs for them not us. Hills ability to develop players only goes so far, as we know, money talks.
Can't wait to be back at Galpharm with them giving it large. No Nardiello this time to shut the ******* up.
Why the dislike for Huddersfield? I've always thought they were pretty harmless. Local rivals who tend to be below us in the league pyramid. A bit like Rotherham.
hate em hate em hate em. Dunno really, I used to work up there and they have a properly developed sense of superiority - for what reason i cannot fathom.
Re: Horrible club Norwood/Clayton/Buttercup would have been a good CM3 in a five man midfield for Huddersfield.
Huddersfield are a horrible club And have horrible fans. Normally I'm a peaceful, easy going bloke, relaxed, with a live and let live attitude to life. But it all changes with that scum.
Re: Huddersfield are a horrible club PMSL!! That's kind of like hearing the Queen say 'I foookin hate Coronation Street, it makes ones minje itch'. Never thought I'd see you come out with summat like that lol.
So You don't believe I AM a peaceful, easy going bloke, relaxed, with a live and let live attitude to life??? <img src ="http://www.shapingyouth.org:8000/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/drama-queen.jpg">
Re: So Would imagine there recently promoted Prem Clubs not to the Championship. Reading where in for him and Southampton where linked, wouldn’t surprise me if it was West Ham either.
I know Huddersfield have offered 30k per week to a potential signing... Huddersfield will be a decent team next year.
Re: So He doesn't, and I know for a fact Wednesday and Huddersfield weren't in for him. Wheras, Soton and Reading were.
My absolutely favourite bit of this classic bit of agent-scripted BS is 'We could have been onto something special'. Yet despite this and: having grown up at the club, the fantastic contract on offer to him, the fact that he knows Hill would have built a midfield around him, the fact that he would have probably have retained the captaincy etc etc, the fact that he's only really had one great half season to date (no guarantees of any more), the fact that he is recovering from a serious injury and could have returned to form gradually down at Oakwell rather than being under pressure to perform from day one, the fact that he is still so young and therefore years away from his peak/best years which could quite clearly all still be spent in the Prem.......... .....hed rather bin us off to move to a lower half Prem team where there is no guarantee of first team football, where he'll probably warm the bench far more than he'll play, and where there's every chance he'll be back in the Championship come January (on loan) or next summer (back down with Norwich). When will these big time charlies ever learn. **** off Jacob, you've absolutely no respect for the club that made you and we're well shut.
