they all lend money off each other

not just 3

it's just the way it works I think they see if they've got any extra at the end of the day they'll lend it to another bank and make some extra money, or they might want some more and borrow from another bank

Thats what I am wondering. I owe NR 5k (in a loan). If they really do start to struggle and need money is there any way that they will accept less if I can pay it in a lump sum now?

Apparently the "cheap" money is coming to an end and its getting more difficult to getthis money out of the money markets.

Unlike;y

If they need the cash urgently they will just sell on the loan to someone else.
Most likely outcome now is that NR will be taken over cheaply by a big bank

HSBC are a huge global organisation if they have problems the whole world is in big big trouble

All banks work on storing money for some people then lending that out to others. If all savers/investors demand their cash back to put under the mattress the bankling system will collapse

HSBC seems to operate on taking your money and...

...not giving anything in return. Branches closed on Saturday, poor interest rate, no perks (unless you PAY for Bank Account Plus - yeah right).

Would'nt be surprised to see interest rates, dramatically over the coming months. Unfortunately investors want some security and some return for their 'brass' All the credit companies will be complaining but they have been the root of the problem by lending to everybody and their Grandmothers.
