if B.H. is allowed to walk away I think it would be a matter of seriously bad management at B.F.C and that includes the person I hold in high esteem,Patrick Cryne.

Was talking to someone on Saturday at the game and they said Moore is on 8K a week! Anyone know if this is true? That came from Howard last weekend when he was round Wombwell, and he's not happy that they haven't offered him an increased deal based on other players.

    Bad management?

What, failing to offer a player 10k per week when hes not worth it. Remeber administration?

I am sure his agent has spoken to the club and let them know the demands. Even Howard has gone public on what he's after.

Cryne has to look after the best interests of the club. Keeping your best players is part of that, but not when it means sacrificing financial security and going above what your willing pay/or what the player is worth.

But if he's not been put on similar terms to the other players at the club IE Kozluk/Moore that is bad management. If he's been offered this and turned it down that's a different story.

    it needs sorting.........

we have to sell him today if we arn't going to offer him a new contract, why we arn't offering arguably best midfielder in championship a new contract is just unbelievable.

Its ok us on here saying "give him the money no matter what"

.........but the club management (SD + PC) understand the situation more than we do.
Yes, Brian is one of Barnsleys better players, but there are better players out there in the wider world, and so a balance has to be struck on how much the club can afford and what we could get if we off loaded Brian and brought in one or more other players.

My own opinion would be to cash in on Brian if a decent offer came in but only if proven replacement/s were lined up first

The money spent on Rigters and Teale`s wages could have helped sort out this situation.

I'd argue he's not the best midfielder in The Championship

In fact i'd say he's not even in the top 5 - especially when look at consistency of players and those that are playing for relegated sides.

    It would make good sense.....

to wait till midnigjht tonight. if by then no serious offer has come in then sit down with him and thrash out a new deal. Why fight money offers we can't match just hang about till the furour has died down. Make him a decent offer then clause saying he can leave if such and such an offer is received.

What if its nothing to do with money?................

You could offer him enough money to bankrupt the club but if he doesn't like playing for the management we've got at the present, and he doesn't like how things are run, no amount of money would make him want to stay.
    Then what?

    Ah but...

He's apparently worth £10 million! Or he was until he entered the last year of his contract...

It was Davey who made him captain which in turn got Howard to play out of his skin, so there must be some respect between them.
