Just had a txt from sister, apparently they're selling their beer off at 50p a pint, take your own container. Check first though.
We've had a good look round at home, and we're on our way with the washing up bowl, dog's water bowl, and the black dustbin.
Gu forrit matey but like I said earlier check first but it might make sense for them to get rid before it spoils.
What coincidence ,,,, me and wife went to Elsecar workshops today and bought several beers from the Acorn shop. No hint that they were selling beers off cheap. Bought some Barnsley Bitter and a 5L can thing of Bradfield brewery beer. Chuffin expensive. It's the first time I've been to the Elsecar site for about 20 years by the way.
Strafford Arms £1.50 a pint, served to your car. Annie Murrays selling kegs of beer if you have a home bar
Watched an edition of Bargain Hunt recently. Presenter Natasha Raskin-Sharp said. " Today our programme comes from the Elsecar Heritage Centre in Sheffield." !!!! Absolutely the laziest research of the very highest order.
Growing up, me and some mates used to go to the Blue Bell in Hatfield near Donny. The draught beer was Barnsley Bitter and the landlady at the time, made sure it was kept in the very best condition. As a result, the local miners and shift workers used to fill the pub at every single session. When any new customer went in, Mrs Hill would look them up and down and give them a number. When she said to me " three", I asked what she meant. She replied that I could have a maximum of three pints tops at any session . I was a bit miffed at first, but I tell you what, she was bang on. The best Bitter was like rocket fuel and after three jars, I knew I had supped that much. I was in awe of some of the lads who worked at Hatfield Main when Mrs Hill told me that some of them would drink 10 or 12 pints a session. They must have had hollow legs.
Not actually an Acorn shop...just sell their full range of bottles. It's the Maison du Biere and the range of bottles is brilliant. Some are expensive....or seem it until you see what they charge in other establishments. Most expensive craft on draught I've seen was £5.50 for half a pint
Beats all the other country singers into a cocked hat - does TVZ. Lungs is a bit close to the bone in these times. Having said that, Rake is my TVZ ultimate song. One of the best tracks ever. A fair few of us will look like a rake if these idiots carry on fleecing the supermarkets.
