Just seen that Newcastle are wanting to send him out on loan again this season. Question is, would you take him back for another season?

Didn't offer enough last season, although I think mainly down to our style of play.

He's a cracking player but he just doesn't suit our playing style.

We play mostly through the wingers and he isn't a striker that thrives off crosses.

Saying that I wouldn't like to come up against him this season either.

If we're going to laik with 7 midfielders (likely looking at transfers so far) all of whom seem to offer good quality passing & creativity then yes. If we're going to play like the back end of last season then no.

    No thanks.

If we still haven't signed another striker by 31st August, then I may change my mind..

I expected big things from him last season & he disappointed, but I'd be willing to give him another chance. He's still very young & the ability is definitely there but he only really showed it in small flashes last season.

In a heart beat, but as an earlier post says we need to play through midfield more rather than knocking crossed over

A big fat no unless he's suddenly developed a work ethic.
It's all well and good claiming our style didn't suit him but his total lack of effort didn't suit us either

Not for me he had a whole season and apart from a couple of games didnt contribute much, There is no doubt a decent player there but for whatever reason he doesn't suit us. Of the players we had on loan last year he would be the last one I would want back. Unfortunately I think he is the only one there is any chance of coming.
In my view it would be better for him to go elsewhere as well he may well excel in a different setup

No, sorry. Not the type of striker we need in a 4-5-1 formation, which looks inevitable formation.
Good luck to the lad, a decent player, but needs someone to play off IMO. I can't see him coming here to warm the bench,
    he needs game time.

Decent player, sadly not what we need up front. Big tall tough nut required. A sort of "Shipperly" replacement.

You'd take Callum Elder back over Arma?

I think this whole idea that Armstrong is lazy is a bit of a myth to be honest. Can remember the game against Leeds where he was absolutely everywhere. I would be willing to have him back - just think he needs a run of games.

He had a wonderful opportunity with us last year but basically blew it . He always had the safety net of Newcastle and a long contract to fall back on and he certainly played like that sometimes .Saying that I just have a funny feeling that we all could be proved wrong with him .

He got a run of games last season. Didn't make him any better

Had a bit of a prolonged spell after half our best players were sold. About 5 or 6 games. Would like to see him given a run in a more settled team and now we have had had chance to try and find adequate replacements for some of the players we've sold. I'm not overly fussed whether we get him back on loan or not but I think he definitely has the ability to be a top championship striker in my eyes.
