Think he was taking the p*ss.

Never heard of this El-Abd guy before but sounds an interesting one. At least we're getting link with more experienced/probably better players. This time last year we were only ever linked with current or former Rochdale players, yeah we've got a few good ones but how many more can they be, and we can't afford to try someone for six months to see if they are any good or let them get used to Championship football. If we hit the ground running this year we could have a brilliant season.

Oh haha, I didn't read the article. That's terrible journalism.

I'd be happy with him. He's certainly a better option than some we have. Big, strong, no nonsense centre back we've be crying out for?

Its hard to know how reliable an article is when it includes such paragraphs as

"And The Star can exclusively reveal that the Championship club are hopeful centre-back Martin Cranie will soon put pen to paper on a new two-year contract."

Thant said I would be quite happy if we do sign El-Abd

i really hope burger boy hasn't been talking to him. "go there, they paid me for months and i never had to do **** all".
joking apart, i don't think the mido deal would have happened in a million years, under flicker. 100% confidence in anyone he chooses to bring to the club

I love the Star; they are so well informed and always have their 'transfer news' fingers on their pulse.

Good defender. Hopefully it works out better for us than the last time we wanted to sign a defender off them.

Flitcroft said yesterday that Hill left him talking to clubs & agents.

So I reckon he had a hell of a lot to do with the Mido transfer.

Brighton only offered him a one year deal apparently and he was a fan of Poyet too. Could be the right time to move for him.

With exception of the front page...The Star is printed around noon the previous day. Newspaper is a bit of a misnomer.
