I heard it was a permanent deal Saturday tea-time.

So i don't know what to believe any more (chinny).

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if the whole deal fell through :'(.

RE: Well he aint got a squad number unlike the other 40 odd in front of him

    Don't panic?!

We've signed a Conference striker and a Keeper who has hardly played any games in 3 year's.

We've missed out on Charlie Adam and know-one know's whats happening with the Gray and Hammill deals anymore.

Not forgetting we need defensive cover, oh ... And there's only 4 days till the season opener.

yes but we will prob sign o'neil Thompson, Perhaps get Gray to add to Boggy, Hume, Macken, ODJ, RNL, Adam. Could well still get Hamill. But most importantly we need to support our team on to the pitch, all through the game, and if they give their all off it as well. Seriously Davey is human. If he said he was close, he was close, to signing players. If people screw us over then so be it. Weren't the right players for the club. STRONGER TOGETHER!!!

Right first sodjes a good play and from what i understand he was wonted when at charlton but had contract promblems. the keeper has been playing i think but its not listed on wiki. Im sure o'neil would be ok at cb along with moore and foster. if non of them are avadible barnsley have hassell and potter to play cb.

The keeper, as you put it !!!

Has been second and third choice keeper for his last two clubs. He has not started a competitive match in last two years, but that does not mean he is a poor keeper.
Sodje is a player that could get better, never goping to be a world beater but could become a decent player. He has had temperament problems at his other clubs, including Ebbsfleet where he got fined for missing training and drinking. Hopefully he will have learned his lesson and get down to some serious graft.

I think we all know that these two players are not the ones that we need for first team, but they will be decent cover and the other new ones , that will be coming, will be the regular first team players.

I can think of one slight problem with hassell playing at centre back

Can you guess what that might be?

i think sodje can play at this level. hes got to be learning a lot and he has the choice of 4 uncles to ask question. hes also liveing with one of the best strikers in south yorkshie.

hes not bad at heading. his heading is better than is full back attacks by a long way.

Sodje has just come from a Conference side, yes that is a Conference side and he hardly scored for them. You think he can jump up 3 league's and play consistently at this level? My god, take a look in the mirror my friend.

You saying Akpo Sodje is one of the best strikers in South Yorkshire then you might want to ask his doctor that, he spends more time on the treatment table than any other striker in our region! He is the biggest injury prone striker out their, he's out of the game on Saturday if you didn't know. He'll be retiring by the time he's 30 so his legs aren't crippled. I'm starting to think your Simon Davey in disguise....
