Right him off at your peril.

    What a player.

We were a totally different team when Hammil and Bradshaw came on. Ball retention up top, short intricate little diagonal passes. We gave their defence more to think about in that last 20-25 minutes than they'd had to do all game.

I don't get why Bradshaw didn't start, Armstrong was useless again.

    Agree.

I thought Kent had a good game with regards to running at the defender but his final ball was poor, whether in open play or set pieces. Hammill has got to start the next game. I'd also have Bradshaw up front on his own rather than Armstrong, I know he has the pace to get in behind but there is zero hold up play so the ball never sticks with him.

Should be starting for me. Cares about the club added a lot of quality when he came on. Kent was again ineffective ( if we are being kind).

Because Bradshaw was poor in his last start. Those continuous long high balls to Armo did him no favours at all.

Maybe so but he grafted less than me sat in the stand.

Sorry, I just don't know what he is for

Armstrong offers nothing in the system we play and seems to put little effort in. I can see that in a team that played the long ball pumping it down the channels he might be good but that's not us.

Well at least he didn't wear the Papal blob on his head.

And he put the ball in for Marley to turn it into a goal.

But he blazed away a pile of point winning chances recently.

So it's no a write off (sorry to correct) just yet.

    Wingers eh? Predictable as girlfriends.

Back to 4-4-2 next week with Hammill and Williams on wing, and Watkins and Bradshaw up top. Kent and Armstrong on bench.

Moncur unlucky to lose his place to Mowett today as well.

Hammill made a difference today. As did Bradshaw when he came on. I think Hecky realised quite early on in the 2nd half that a change was needed and was bold enough to make 2 at once. But Hammill played like a man with something to prove today. He seems to have good games against his former clubs. Can't wait to see him against Liverpool ;)

God knows why he changed the formation, he did it a bit back, didn't work then either, and Hecky himself said in the media that it was a mistake on his part.

The only way the starting line-up could have done anything is if Kent played a blinder because other than that there was no real creative player.

Be interested to know what Hammill's opinions are on being on the bench all the time, even though he hasn't really pulled up any trees (in terms of goals and assists) back in this league he does cause problems, pulls defenders out of position and creates space for others. I know Hecky relies on Prozone and GPS stats but I don't really think you can quantify Hammill's contribution with stats. Kent has had far many worse games than Hammill.

If he is happy sitting on the bench and getting 25 minutes or so then that's not an issue either as he's obviously going to thrive coming on fresh and driving against players who have already ran 5 miles.

Did same against Wolves at home.

Very limited in options though of course given we have two strikers

Still think he can maintain a 442 and freshen it up - Marley Watkins considers himself a striker, stick him up there if he's wanting to rest someone.
