    Longer sentence for a 20 something year old man who has sexual activity with a 15 year old girl who instigated it and boasted of the encounter to friends before and after it happened than for female teachers who have had sustained sexual relations hips with much younger children in their care.

    Glad to see men and women are treated equally

    It also seems bizarre that taken into account was that the girl was abused in social media by people basically calling her a ****. This was after SHE named herself by boasting publicly about what she was dong.

    500% more than Stuart Hall's initial conviction, for sexual assault on 13 people as young as 9 years old.

    He is an odious man who has comitted a crime and I dont really have any sympathy for him but...

    That seems excessive and as others have posted well out of line with what others have received for what are in my view even worse offences.

    And as Supertyke points out had he been a female schoolteacher having a long term sexual relationship with a boy (s)he would have got a mere fraction of the sentence

    I personally think its unfairly long

    He deserved prison time but when you look at other crimes and the sentences this one isn't in proporition. You can kill someone and get less time.

    I tend to agree with the general points made in this thread but I would argue that other sentences were unfairly short rather than Johnsons being unfairly long. There does seem to be a lack of consistency across all kinds of sentencing which doesn't help because people will naturally make comparisons.

    Baby p's killers got 6 years for killing a 17 month old baby in a horrific way and leaving him with over 50 injuries. Then they got new identity on release. Justice system is ****ed. Don't get me wrong he had to get time but a bit of Common sense wouldn't go a miss.

    When passing sentance you after take into account other cases and crimes. For example you wouldn't give someone 10 year for shoplifting and community service for murder. He deserves jail but not that amount when some can get same for murdering a baby. Justice system is ****ed

    His victim was a willing partner who boasted about what she planned to do to her friends. His victim went to lengths to seek HIM out. His victim was happy with the situation until her parent found out about it.

    As I've said before, there are members of this forum who have committed the same offences. There is at least one who, when in his 20s, would have been a text book case for grooming and then met an underage girl in his car and did exactly the same as Johnson admitted doing. And you know what? The 'victim' in that case doesn't see herself as a victim at all as she was a willing party. But by law if an investigation had been made of it he MUST have got 6 years.

    When she gets to an age where she feels responsible for her actions shell feel like a victim.
    He's old enough to know she can't be a willing party.

    Absolute horrible and depraved individual.

    The Sun has reported things about him they were unable to report during the trial. His personal computer was seized by the police and he used to watch and down load videos of young and underage girls. He was also very interested in watching people having sex with animals.

    Ach well he's in luck. I'm sure 1 or 2 beasts will happily oblige him whilst in prison. Hope he has a very uncomfortable 6 years.

    He watched videos of underage girls? I find that very hard to believe as if the police had evidence of that he would certainly have been charged with child pornography offences.
