Blackpool have apparently boosted their hopes of English Championship survival this season by finally persuading Scotland midfielder Charlie Adam to complete a £500,000 move to Bloomfield Road. The Dundonian Rangers Youth product has been topic of conversation for near 2 months now on whether he was going to Blackpool or Reading or any team that showed half an interest in the once promising Rangers midfield dynamo. Charlie is a hard working player but his inconsistency was his major downfall at Rangers and the fans were often on his back. Adam impressed during a loan spell with Blackpool last season but, after hearing the clubs had agreed a fee earlier this week, appeared reluctant to cut his ties with Ibrox. Following talks with Blackpool officials, the 23-year old returned to Glasgow to determine whether he could salvage his Rangers career but was forced to conclude he would have to make a fresh start. Charlie deserves this break and would have spent most of the season on the Rangers bench to be frank ad he has talents that I am sure will help Blackpool this season and we wish him all the best. A free-kick specialist who scored 18 goals in 89 appearances for Rangers, Adam has accepted a three-year deal at Bloomfield Road, with an option for a further 12 months, and is expected to go straight into Blackpool's starting line-up for Saturday's Championship opener against Queens Park Rangers
1 of the 3 left depends on a board meeting at Charlton tomorrow so currently down to 2 potential targets currently then.
and looks like Hammill is a loan deal. Leaving one permanent signing (maybe) of a player (maybe foreign) that we dont know. Davey out.
According to the Mirror we are set for talks with Adam today! http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/2009/08/04/tykes-battle-to-land-adam-115875-21569792/ Have we had a bid accepted? It's about time we pinched a signing under the nose's of our rivals, afterall it's happy to us plenty of times! Say's the Hammill deal is only a loan too.
To clarify; Charlie Adam HAS NOT signed for Blackpool yet. http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/blackpool-football-club/Adam-could-face-Everton-tonight.5519912.jp That's quite a good source from there side, talks were on-going yesterday and were hoping to conclude a deal today. Sound's like we've also had a bid accepted a Davey is trying to talk to Adam today, after all this is the lad's future here so surely he'll have the respect to come and have talks and a look around the facilities. Come on Davey get the fan's back on side and pull this one out of the bag.
Charlie Adam's Future.... ...He'll start the season well, get injured - gain weight and become homesick and will be back playing for Aberdeen or Motherwell within 18 months. Not particulary disappointed that we didn't sign him.
He's now officially signed for them. http://www.blackpoolfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10432~1742839,00.html So then Mr. Davey what do you have up your sleeve now? Don't even want to compete with the likes of Blackpool. I am seriously worried about this season :'(.
Like people have said before No-one knows if we had the chance to talk to him, maybe he was only interested in re-joining a team he spent a while at last season?
Has anyone even seen him play? Is he that good? If so, why have only 2 teams seemingly shown any interest?
Just seems people are quick to jump on Davey's back when no-one knows the ins and outs

spot on mate A lot of oooha about a player that has only attracted Barnsley and Blackpool. Hardly a world beater.
