    Does anyone know what he was sent off for then? The commentary team seemed quite puzzled, at first they thought that Kettle had shown the red card for Perkins.

    Keith Hill said in his interview he thought it was a very harsh decision. He said both players made a genuine challenge for the ball, but Smith did leave the ground and so it may have looked to the ref like a malicious challenge.

    Trevor Kettle was the ref so could have been for anything.

    But 5 live said it a shuddering challange so I'll wait until I see it.

    Saw on goals express. He scissored around he ball/Perkins. Think ref got that right if not the penalty
