Charlie Adam is keen to continue his career with Rangers despite strong interest from Blackpool. The midfielder enjoyed a productive loan spell with the Seasiders as he helped them secure their Championship status last season. New Blackpool boss Ian Holloway is eager for Adam to return to Bloomfield Road, but the 23-year-old is waiting to discover if he has a future at Ibrox. Adam has three years remaining on his contract with the Scottish Premier League champions, but is attracting interest from a number of Championship sides. Adam told the Blackpool Gazette: "I still have three years left on my contract at Ibrox and, ideally, I'd love to see that out. "I worked really hard to earn myself the five-year deal I signed in 2007, so I'm not about to do anything rash that I might regret. "At the moment, I'm only thinking about being as fit as possible when Rangers restart training on July 9. "When that happens, I'll probably discover where my future lies. I really want to settle down with one club, preferably Rangers."
Who can blame him? He wants to stay firmly in his comfort zone playing the likes of Hamilton, Falkirk and St Johnstone rather than challenge himself long term in the Championship. Bet the pay packet also helped sway his decision
Helped sway what decision? He hasn't decided anything, it's the exact same quote he gave weeks ago when he left Blackpool. It's no different to hammill saying in an ideal world he wants to play for Liverpool. As for testing himself in the championship, why do that if you're told you can play in front of 50,000 fans, win silverware, earn numerous caps for Scotland, and play in the champions league? He's only 23, could choose to test himself in 3 years time at a higher level than Blackpool and Barnsley if rangers decide he fits into their plans.
How about a season-long loan, then .... If Rangers decide to keep him, but won't guarantee him any starts - could be best for club and player, I would think.
