Now I posted on here how wrong I thought it was when the ref ended the game at Pompey on exactly the 8th minute of the allotted 8 minutes stoppage time, when there was clearly stoppages within that 8 minutes. Today Northampton scored in the 6th minute of stoppage time when 4 minutes was allocated. Yes we had 1 substitute in that 4 minutes but I don’t recall other stoppages, certainly not warranting at least another 2 minutes. So wrong
As wrong as it seems though (especially when it goes against us), it needs to be done to stop teams taking the absolute mick, with blatant time wasting.
Yeah Tarn, I do also agree with that. But how many times (for example) have we done it this season, leading and looking good and confident etc... then we try to defend and desperately timewaste.
Just this. Of course it the ref had given the blatant foul on Cosgrove Kane wouldn’t have been making the Challenge in the first place I did wonder if it was a mistake putting A sub on on with 30 seconds to go as it gave the ref an excuse to play an extra minute
Yeah, that foul on Cosgrove was unreal his shirt was pulled over his shoulder. Needless substitution though
It reminds me of another draw at home, when we conceded in the 8th minute of stoppage time. Against George Moncur and Colchester, in '16. But, at least that had a happy ending in the Play offs.
Honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen so many bent reffing performances as the past season at Oakwell. They treat the same situations differently. Our player got booked for remonstrating with the Lino. Fair enough. Their player does it. Nothing. He fell for every single bit of Northampton play acting/timewasting first half also. We get screwed week in week out cos we don’t employ the dark arts.
Collins was well criticised for his substitution choices so with 30 seconds left we do a sub and give the ref the chance to add more time...terrible decision..
