It's ********

All he should get is a 3 game ban for the foul on Van Persie.

All he did was celebrate. Talk about over reacting.

What would you do if one of our players celebrated in that way?

Hadn't seen that before - wow

By reading the reports, I got the impression that Adebayor scored in front of the Arsenal fans and just celebrated his goal a bit "too much"... I didn't realise that the tw@t actually ran all the way to the other end of the pitch just to wind up their fans and cause some trouble.

So yeah, Adebayor really does deserve a ban for that, what an idiot.

Nothing wrong with the celebration at all.

Did he leave the field & enter the stand? No so what did he do wrong?

Id have liked to have seen some Gooners spill onto the pitch just to see what they actually would have done

How often you see players run all way to the other end of the pitch to celebrate their goal in front of the opposite team's fans? :D

I'm not defending the Arsenal fans here, I can't understand people who hurt other people or cause trouble in the name of football, but when there are a lot of people gathered in one place, there are always a few loonies around. What Adebayor did was irresponsible and stupid, in my opinion.

I believe he should be severly reprimanded

    for conduct likely to incite.

If the Arsenal fans who threw things on the pitch can be identified they should be banned from all football grounds for a period (if I had my way it would be for life)

He was inciting the crowd.. He's admitted as much himself.

I don't know how anyone can defend him.

People also seem to have forgotten about the stamp on Fabregas.

If it has been a lesser known player, an example would have been made of him.

    His overall behaviour was disgusting.

Funny how not many people have mentioned Van Persie

Running to the City fans shouting F**k off C*nts after he scored

    What you've said...

    .. is ********.

He's guilty of incitement. As clear a case of provocation as you're likely to see.

    I'm not defending that either...

... my real concern that whilst hooliganism had never completely gone away it seems to be raising its ugly head amongst fat fortysomethings and it wants stamping out straight away. Oh and if anyone suggests that it's 'passion' I don't think charging down a stand having no regard of who you crush, stamp on or injure whilst throwing items onto the pitch is passion it's thuggery.

I hope we've left the late 70s and 80s behind.

My take on it is simple

If an opposition player scores in the barnsley half and celebrates towards the home fans has happens occasionally the entire stand boos that player and shouts pretty nasty things towards him because he has enticed the fans, he has caused trouble.

If a player scored in front of the north stand at oakwell and ran all the way across the pitch to the ponty end to start rubbing it in in front of the barnsley fans the reaction would be exactly what it was with adebayor.

Clear encitement and cannot be defended

    So what about Rooney?

He always seems to Intimidate the Liverpool fans. I remember whenn he scored at Anfield at the Kop end hewent over to the crowd and celebrated which led to a mobile phone being chucked at him.

Adebayor basically stuck 2 fingers up at the Arsenal fans after all the stick and criticism he got from them during his spell at Arsenal. Like ESL, has said. he did not leave the field of play. he did not take his shirt off. So, he was unlucky to get cautioned.

    RE: So what about Rooney?

I don't know about this Rooney incident, so I can't comment on it. However, he's a professional footballer so he should act like a professional too.

Adebayor is a professional footballer too, so he should have known (and I'm sure that he did!) that running all the way to the other end of the pitch to celebrate a goal in front of the opposite fans would cause some looneys in the crowd to start a riot. And that's exactly what happened. What if one of the stewards had been seriously injured as a result? Would you still be defending Adebayor?
