A couple of columns sticking up for him inciting the crowd....... http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...205/Fans-can-dish-it-out-but-not-take-it.html http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...el-Adebayor-debate-The-hypocrites-stands.html
I like the Joe Cole story. There must be temptation when you've had dogs abuse all game to give a bit back when you score. Unprofessional though and can't be excused. I bet there's few players that are affected detrimentally by abuse from the crowd (apart from maybe their own fans) To abuse an opposition player is totally counter productive.
one thing that strikes me about that match (and plenty others) is that the manchester city and arsenal fans were seperated by ONE person in the stands. They were close enough that they could touch each other from their seats if they chose to do so yet at Oakwell the fans are not allowed within 10 square miles of each other. Against Chelsea we were told that under no circumstances could the fans even share a stand regardless of the space between them and methods employed to keep them apart.
To be fair to him when he came out to warm up before the match the Arsenal fans were throwing things at him and calling him every name under the sun. I'd have done the same if I'd have scored if they'd been chucking stuff at me an hour before.
but don't man city warm up at the other end of the pitch to where the arsenal fans are? I'm not sure on that to by honest but normally the home team will warm up near the home fans not in front of the away fans so why was adebayor warming up near the arsenal fans?
