Was he wrong or right to run the length of the pitch to celebrate infront of the Arsenal fans?

Fans acting like animals after giving out grief? Wrong or right?

If they can't take a celebration in front of them why boo and abuse him when he plays for an opposing team? Respect works both ways eh?

Micahel Turner made me laugh - went to celebrate with Hull fans then realised!

He was actually playing for opposing team! lol, he seemed to apologise straight away.

RE: Adebayor - Wrong and he should be punished but...

... if any of the fans who were throwing things at him or fighting to get on the pitch can be identified then it would be a lifetime ban for them as far as I am concerned... no ifs or buts.

RE: Fans acting like animals after giving out grief? Wrong or right?

im not saying its right what he did and im not saying the animals that support arsenal are right, i just wondered what you thought, say for example Odejayi leaves and comes back to oakwell and scored against us and ran the length of the pitch to celebrate infront of the Ponty, how would we take that? its a similar circumstance to Adebayor where he gets alot of stick from the fans, would Oddjob be right to do so?

I'd rub my eyes in disbelief !!!

I'd give him some stick but I'd not throw things at him or act like a hooligan.

I wasn't passing judgement on your post, I simply think that it should be give and take - people seem to bay like animals at players and think they can shout what they want because they have paid to get in to watch a football match. I think back to ric Cantona, and whilst not agreeing with what he did and a lot of what he said, I can see why it happened. I was incensed when the two idiot female 'singers' came out and started rodding our fans at Hillsborough - this was different as they were performing and shouting obscene gestures in front of my kids and others. I think it depends on what they do - nothing wrong with the celebration (nothing offensive) yet, the Stoke players a couple of seasons ago were out of order. I'd be tempted to laugh at Adebayor and the situation Arsenal were in.

if by 'upset' you mean throwing things at him and having

a total disregard of anyone who may be in the way of the surge of the mob, then I think you would be right. I hoped this kind of stuff had been consigned to the past but there seems to be an upturn at the moment. Still it will be justified by some as showing 'passion'

He was totally wrong to do it. Rise above it, show a bit of class. Plenty of opportunity to have his say in the papers etc.

Know one has mentioned the stamp on Van Persie yet, that was worse for me.

The act of a cowardly, vindictive professional.

It was a clear stamp, toe end into the face - what every you may call it but to do it to his former striker partner was totally wrong.

I hope the F.A throw the kitchen sink at him, no doubt he'll get away with a slapped wrist though. (blagger)

    neither really.

he's not right for doing it, but hardly wrong either. he didn't leave the pitch, make rude gestures or throw anything did he.

seem to remember toby tyke annoying man city fans by throwing back a toilet roll which had been thrown at him. after pretending to wipe his, err, behind on it first of course. football fans can be so precious at times.

He was 100% wrong. Somebody on Talk Sport got it spot on when they said that "it wasn't a goal celebration, it was an act of complete self indulgence and although the Arsenal fans were wrong its a case of chicken and egg". They would not have reacted that way had he celebrated in front of the City fans. He's a moron and deserves the book throwing at him for this and the stamp on Van Persie.

They may have been ex-strike partners but they have never got on. They were at each others throats while at Arsenal, don't like each other. Common knowledge amongst Arsenal fans, according to a Millwall fan at work who's brother is a Gooner. He should get a 10 match ban for it, like you say, cowardly, and definitely intended.

    I see, didn't know that.

Like you say though, that doesn't make it right for him to do it.

You always like to do well against a former club to prove the doubters wrong but there's no need for that kind of act.

Cowardly and vicious. 10 match ban would do nicely.

I thought the celebration was piss funny

Seeing all those Gooners on the verge of a heart attack was hilarious. Proper rubbed their nose in it-good on him!

We all know that wont happen. Who do City play next weekend?? Yes thats right United!! Ban him in time for the weekend to give Fergies lot the points. Gary Neville got fined £5000 for doing the same thing to Liverpool fans so if Adebayor gets banned it shows IMO how biased the FA are.

He isn't gonna get banned for celebrating. He is gonna be banned for the cowardly rake with his studs on Van Persie.

That in my eyes was unintentional how could he make his mind up to stamp on Van Persie in such a short space of time from the challenge going in? Maybe they do hate eachother but it could have been any Arsenal player that went in for the challenge. How would people react if Van Persie didnt get the ball & clattered Adebayor he'd have taken both his legs off, or the 3 challenges he rode near the corner flag that all went in to 'Do Him'

    Thats right

He won't get banned for the celebration as this has been deemed to be dealt with at the time cause he got a booking, just like a certain Mr Morgan
