We know how spinless the FA are though

Only have to look at the Hume situation to see that

I've barely seen any coverage of the Fabregas one, but even that looks fairly awful - but the Adebayor one could have been so, SO much worse if it had been in his eye, which it certainly wasn't far away from.

"Trying to play the ball" my arse.

He wasnt put in intensive care with life threatening injuries - so therefore im sure the FA will be interested in this.

It will all be RVP's fault or SD's in his eyes.

    No, Adebayor.

Referring back to Eaststand Lower's post today where he stated Adebayor didn't 'intentionally' go to stamp on Van Persie.

    What I don't get is...

The referee says he didn't see it. If you watch the replay on youtube, he's at the bottom of the screen, looking straight at it. He moves his head away slightly as if looking at the ball, but there's no way he missed that...

It should be six matches at the very least but i dont expect real punishment from the spinless FA.

    FA Charges

One for the stamp that went unpunished during the game, violent conduct ...

    AND........according to the BBC

He also faces a charge of improper conduct for his goal celebration in front of the Arsenal supporters.
But he was booked for that exact thing wasn't he, so surely that is the end of the matter !!

    RE: FA Charges

Not so sure that's the end of the matter tbh. Was listening to the radio earlier and as well as the FA charging him with improper conduct for the goalcelebration, Greater Manchester police have given their views to the FA and may take it further themselves apparently.

    The point being made Jeff

Is that the F.A. claimed that they couldn't hand out any punishment against Chris Morgan after he broke Iain Hume's skull, as the referee had already booked him for the incident. If they move the goalposts on that matter with Adebayor, then I'm certain there'll be a few letters/emails from Barnsley fans winging their way to F.A. Headquarters.

    One facet of this

IIRC The FA say that the view from the other side of Adebayor's challenge shows it in a better light for the ref to make a judgement - yet the view of Morgan's elbow to Hume's head from behind the nets shows that particular incident up for what it was - yet D'Urso would not review it.</p>

    Double.treble, quadruple standards.

    Just me being lazy Kev

..hadn't read the rest of the thread & took the post on face value without taking into account your (BFC) interests. Oops.

Ridiculous that the FA are so inconsistent but what can you do?

Having said that, I think it's only a matter of time before the police step in & take certain decisions out of the FA's hands - Adebayors celebrations caused a lot of problems on saturday & lets be honest, Arsenal are not known for being the most volatile of fans. Imagine if someone had celebrated like that at West Ham/Millwall

I also think that there are times (and the Morgan assault is a prime example) where the decision goes beyond the jurisdiction of the football authorities. You can't get away with GBH on the streets without appropriate punishment so why should you be able to on a football field.
