My wife went to the match on saturday and for some reason she took last years season ticket book by mistake. When she realised her error she went to the ticket office where she purchased a ticket for £21 and to be told when she goes back with her season ticket she will be refunded £16 as a £5 admin.fee is charged. It seems a bit steep to be penalised a fiver when you pay £300 up front in good fath.

?? I think you're making a massive leap from me passing a comment on Club policy to ballacking the office staff.

It must be a new procedure to charge this, I did exactly the same last season and I got the full refund back.

While I agree with your sentiments, and in that position I might feel the same, I reckon all organisations have to deal with a fair number of similar emergencies every matchday. Forgetting, losing, misplacing, and bringing the wrong tickets or documentation will be a fairly common occurrence in all organisations who deal with a surge of 10k fans through the turnstiles every week.

It's not just the time spent issuing replacement tickets, but the added on clerical work that is used to put it all right later. Things like this all take up staff time, and cost money. It may mean that clubs have to fund the cost of an extra pair of hands virtually every other week. These have to be paid for.

Our prices for tickets have remained fairly rock bottom and didn't increase this season. Clubs in this position just can't afford to spend extra cash seeing to people who have forgotten their tickets, without some recompense.

Not being funny but that's the way I see it.

    £5 is a bit steep.

As someone with a terrible memory who forgets his season ticket 2 or 3 times a season I just used to pay for a replacement and get a full refund when I showed them the unused ticket in my season ticket. I suppose the sting of a fiver might make me more conscious of remembering but I think its a bit much. £2 or £3 would be fair I suppose.
