Administration

Bugger, some things playing up with the system tonight.

I was just going to ask if anyone thinks we were told the truth about the club going into administration. I dont think I have seen any of the old board put their hands up and say why it was allowed to happen.

Sean Lewis told me that the club had been bled of money. He said he couldn't say much more about it but would when he took over, which we know didn't happen.

I suppose ITV Digital will take the blame.

    RE: Administration

Either that or we signed players that we couldn't afford. Some of those players must have been on big wages and some of those that we brought in to try and get back to the Premiership - Dyer's , Hignetts and son on. This has happened to a lot of the smaller clubs that hit the big time - Swindon, Oldham , Wimbledon - they achieved more than they could cope with.

The smaller cubs have struggled with their fifteen minutes of fame and have taken years to get back on an even keel.

Fair enough but they tried to show ambition by signing these players and it didn't work

    ITV Digital ?

partial to blame at the most. it was clubs fault mainly for budgeting for that money before they received it. it would be like saying im going to buy that expensive car even though you havent got the money to. clubs should have stuck to budgets then got a luxary of a player once the money came. afterall ITV digital was a new venture and those are always risky so clubs should have took more caution to scenario of it going bust.

    Squad too large

I think that we signed too many ex-premiership players, particularly in the midfielders, who must have been on very good money. The squad was so large you wondered how they would all get a game.

Under Spackman we seemed to sign no end of midfielders.

    RE: Squad too large

People's expectations were raised too much - the board tried to match the fan's ambitions - too many players on too much money

Surely it was more like saying "I'm going to buy that expensive car over a few years because I know I will have that money coming in"
