One of the best series I've ever watched, it's going to clean up at the BAFTAs. The cinematography is incredible, and the performance by the young lad - all in one take - absolutely mindblowing.
If anybody is going to watch it try to watch all 4 together in one go if you can. Brilliant acting all round, but the lad and Stephen Graham are astounding. I heard yesterday that they filmed episode 3 first. That makes the lad’s performance in his first acting role even more unbelievably brilliant.
Not sure I’d call it brilliant, it’s definitely well done and acted but it’s a hard watch at times, a really disturbing plot and some will say creative ending I felt disappointed by it. Stephen Graham is a very very good actor tho.
It was a remarkable programme that was brilliantly written, brilliantly acted and brilliantly shot. The way it focussed on individuals made it so intense and emotional. 90% of episode 3 was set in a room with just 2 people in it and just talking. How they made it so engaging and gripping was an astonishing piece of work. It might very well be the best TV programme I’ve ever watched.
I'm sure you know as its all over the SESKU facebook pages but it was shot locally in Minsthorpe, at the college and leisure centre. My daughter was lucky enough to get an extras role and can be seen from time to time. It was very good, kind of wanted it to be a who done it but the ending has the desired effect of us asking WHY WHY ....
Let me guess - he plays a Scouser? Just seen it was written by Jack Thorne. I was at Uni with him. A nice lad, didn't think he would become so successful.
Superb drama, each episode brilliantly shot in one take. Some absolutely stellar acting, particularly from Stephen Graham and the lad, but I also thought the psychologist was fantastic in that 3rd episode.
Brilliant how it's one continuous scene per episode. The kid is excellent and is going to be a star. Stephen Graham and Ashley Walters are amazing. The story is wonderfully told and is like nothing terrestrial television would dare to try. All the better that it was filmed in West Yorkshire. It's going to win loads of awards and is worth the Netflix monthly subscription for these four episodes alone.
I think it’s absolutely brilliant. I get that people call SG out for being slightly one dimensional but he’s absolutely phenomenal in this, just like he is in most other roles he has played.
Thought it was brilliant…a few pals thought it was boring but I was just mesmerised with the one take aspect. If anyone likes this for the ‘one shot’ aspect watch boiling point - very good underrated film..also with Stephen Graham in
Without giving a spoiler away ........ At the time, I thought ep4 was the worst. With hindsight it was good. Mostly down to the realism of there being no big reveal or pointless twist. As above, the child Psychologist was superb.
I feel exactly the same about episode 4, the brilliance is in the simplicity. There's no real plot twists just how it would happen in the real life situation.
We dropped on him at tesco in hemsworth when he was filming this series, she was telling him how brilliant an actor he was he seemed ok, but then he smacked her over her head and run off with her handbag!!
