No sarcy stuff either [IMG]

Got some Stoke friends coming through early Setdy. They want a nice bar meal at dinnertime, and then to watch Everton v Liverpool like me. Apparently Joseph Bramah dont have footy on, so that rules my favourite pub out. Any suggestions please?

    Cheers Dirk but.....

im afraid it has to be town really. They wont be wearing colours I dont think, and I reckon the youngest is about a woman in her mid 30's. They wont be trouble causers. Would Walkabout be a decent option or will it be busy as fook?

It'll be busy, but if they're in 'civvies' then I think you'll be okay dining.

This is the problem with filling Barnsley with cheapjack alcopop bars. Does that new boozer that used to be the Orchard do snap and have SKY ?

Thats the one I mean Dirk - The Joseph Bramah used to be the Orchard. It does great snap, and its my favourite pub ever, but someone has told me they dont have live footy on from Sky.

Ah. That'd be the only clean one I could think off. Unless what used to be Isaacs ( or is it still ?) has the football on - it's been done out a bit.

You'd have no problem in Walkabout.

I met a few uni mates from Southampton there the other week.

You will need to be in early for the food as it would be busy near kick off time.

What about Lucorum or wherever for food then walk up to Walkabout or whevever for the match.

Does it have to be the same pub?

Why not get to 'Spoons for before noon, Farmhouse Breakfasts all round then across the road for footy in Walkabout?

The same pub would have been better, but that is a great idea. You have convinced me I reckon!
