    Hi all,

The family has been invited down to Wembley to watch the FA cup semi final next Saturday, and i am just looking for some advice on the best way to get down there.

hen we went to our Semi final a few years ago i remember how much carnage there was trying to get near the Stadium, so i dont want to really take the car all the way.

Im sure i have heard of people driving to Watford Gap(?) and getting the train/underground into Wembley central. Is this the best way?

    What do people think?

    Cheers!

Seconded. Piece of piss. If the tube station is full there's **** loads of houses, offices etc that open to let you park there.

M1 to J15 (Northampton), A43 to M40, M40 To Uxbridge. Park up in Uxbridge town centre then underground straight to Wemberlee. Piece of the proverbial yellow stuff.

Or you could always go down the night before to avoid the bottleneck of traffic and just book into some cheap digs for the night if thats one idea you was considering.

Stanmore, Jubilee Line, Wembley Park. Check first though, as Jubilee often has engineering works at weekend. And you really don't want to experience the replacement buses. Enjoy :)

Would also concur with parking at Stanmore, pretty painless getting there but give yourself about an hour and half after the game to get back when all the crowds flock to the same place.

If you want to do something different (and make a quicker getaway after the game), you could like you say park at Watford and get a train in or, to save petrol/journey time, even get the train from Milton Keynes - it's about £14 return to Euston, from there get the tube to Wembley (changing at Baker Street). Good time saver and by the time you get back in the car you're already half way up the M1 - probably prove a bit expensive if it's the whole family though.

Ruislip is best we found. 5 mins on overground so less crowded than tube. If you are staying night before there is a days inn down there which is good and free parking right next door to station. Done same routine for footy and concerts at Wembley. Easy as..
