    You will need

11 players to kick off the match, a few more that are not quite up to standard ,for subs, a pitch to play on, somewhere to be based (preferably a pub), you need to p[ay for your affiliation to the FA, pay for referee, kit washing , new kit etc.
all in all its fecking expensive. :( :(

My advice. Get somebody else to do it with you. It is a very expensive exercise. Looking at owt between £250 and £500 a year for pitch (depending on facilities), you have to pay to enter the league, enter the cups, then there is the refs fees every home game, which you normally end up out of pocket on. It can be a bit of a task just to find a decent pitch. You get players turning up with no money and spend the entire season chasing people for signing on fees, fines etc. Then there is the nightmare of getting the team out of bed every sunday. I have done it a few times and it can be hard work if you do it on your own, and depending on the level. If it is kids then you are on to a winner. People tend to do things a bit cheaper for kids teams and there are parents to foot the bills.
