There are a few on ITV4 but mostly just highlights http://www.itv.com/sport/football/n...african-cup-of-nations-live-highlights-75475/
arsenal v man utd or ivory coast v sudan. glad i have a choice. does anyone really think african nations should be played mid season. and i could be wrong, but isn't it every 2 years?
ok smartarse why should they have it every 2 years. the game as a whole is based around europe, and should be. even the best from elsewhere want to play here to improve
Because they want to have it every 2 years - money I guess. As for playing it in Jan....makes sense to play in the cooler months
brilliant, we blame players for chasing money, but it's ok for federations, ******. world cup every 4 years as is euros. should be same for african nations
Cooler Months? In Africa? Most of it is Equatorial or Tropical and the temperature doesn't vary by more than a couple of degrees all year, they have dry seasons and wet seasons. Also depends whether the tournament is in North Africa or South Africa as to whether it's slightly cooler in Jan/Feb
If the major European nations stopped signing African players then maybe their federations would get themselves in line with the rest of the world. Why should clubs lose players who they have a contract with and who they pay a fortune every week so they can play a tournament half way through a season.
Tough ****.....sign an African international you know what can happen. Why should the African Nations Cup change to suit the European off-season?
English league is filled with foreign players and then we moan about the competitions they have at international level, it makes me laugh. Just because our FA is the b*tch to the Premier League, which means England will NEVER win a major tournement, doesn't mean other countries FAs should follow suit. Problem is the likes of Arsenal Man U and Chelsea are too used to dictating to the craven FA about how the game in England should be run, they sure do get shock when the African countries turn around and tell them to shove it!! I love it, more please.
Exactly what I said. If they don’t like it then they should stop signing them and this would force a review. And because the vast majority of their players now play in Europe then maybe they should consider reviewing when they play their tournament. I know who needs who the most.
Strange that the holders dont automatically qualify. Eygpt having won it the last 3 times failed to qualify.
Why is that strange? The holders of the European Championships don't automatically qualify, neither do the holders of the World Cup.
