RE: **** & Crown In Crofton I'm from Crofton and can also recommend the **** & Crown. It's also a Toby Carvery like the Dodworth Valley but alot nicer. The food was of poor quality and cold at Dodworth Valley. £3 midweek but think it £5 saturdays & sundays
Pheasent up Ardsley Hill Lovely plates of sunday dinner. Get a mixture of meat and veg all on a plater, top stuff. Works out at about £6 each if theres 4 of you.
Strafford Arms, Stainborough Don't take kids though - not kid friendly. Speciality is a huge battered haddock.
Really? Whenever I've been in there it's been a bit unfriendly (well, alot unfriendly). Not a place I would think of to go & eat .... but maybe that has something to do with being in the middle of nowhere ... still take your word for it - dare say you go in there occasionally.
Know exactly what you mean But the food is good and Sunday lunch is OK. The management are however against kids and simply refuse them access. That's one reason why we now have our own bar because some of our younger players were not allowed in, to say nothing of big kids like me.
RE: Know exactly what you mean Well I know who the most unfriendly/ grumpy person in that pub would be (on a Staurday night) ... but that's a different story ... never felt encouraged to go there. Own bar? Should've said ... I'd have come to watch a game .... must be alot of recycling to do eh?
RE: Talbot in Map - biggest portions of meat & 5 veg + 2 sorts of spud & yorkies pud. Do doggie bags of left overs or for about 2 quid cheaper they do takeaway Sundi lunch which feeds me & 20yo
