...... after witnessing yesterday's inept performance I think we are doomed and will be relegated at the end of the season. Doncaster were poor yet with the tactics employed and the players/formation chosen (inc substitutes) we could not beat them. The midfield, in particular, looks inept and incapable of supporting the attackers effectively and perhaps that is one reson why one of the main tactics yesterday was to lump the ball up to O'Grady and hope for something to come of it. Simply not good enough, not positive enough and smacks of a tactician i.e. manager) who is out of his depth and not able to get the best out of the players. If things carry on like this then we are down. The only ray of light at the moment is that there are actually three teams worse than us.
Have to agree either you mate. Not looking good at all, is it? The midfield tactics are my main concern. It's not going to work playing Fox and Perkins together, although I thought Perkins had one of his better games yesterday. Don't see what Fox brings. We should be going for it in these games Wednesday/Donny etc. not playing 2 defensive midfielders. I've said in another thread, if Pederson gets some service, he'll score goals. Overall, I left Oakwell very deflated yesterday. I was considering going to Millwall in a fortnight, but having witnessed yesterday's garbage (and they were worse than us) I can't justify the 50+ quid it will cost. Cheaper to sit in the local and watch soccer Saturday. Last 4/5 seasons I've done 40 odd games. My last away game was Blackburn in August and I can't see myself travelling anytime soon. Maybe Yeovil as it's a new ground. What do you reckon Springvale Red. We making one?
No way I'm paying 34 sovs to get into Bellend Road, Andy. Crap view and I struggle to get my legs in. Think the average person in Leeds must've been five feet six when they built it.
Got to agree re Fox. Thought that both he and Perkins were poor together but as soon as Fox was replaced by Dawson, Perkins got a new lease of life and his game improved no end. This manager as got to be more positive, why when we are defending free kicks do we have all players back and when we are taking free kicks do we have 3 or 4 players around the ball instead of in the box? These situations win matches when approached correctly but not the way we do it.
I don't think that anybody except Flicker thinks that 4-4-2 at home with Perkins and Fox in midfield is the right thing to do. He's running out of time.
