Donny pulled clear (Billy Sharp's goals will be enough to keep them up), Blackpool have found a win, now a 7 point gap to 5th bottom. And with Charlton having 4 games in hand and a new manager, its looking very much like we will be relegated long before the end of the season.

A long summer ahead, Wednesday, Donny possible Rotherham fans taking the p.ss. Fixture list coming out will be a real wounder. In World Cup year as well, expect to be sat on my sunbed in July reading about O Grady being tapped up by Doncaster. What joy.

Cant blame Patrick for lack of funds this year he's dug deep

cant blame Mansford or Watkins, they acted by sacking Flitcroft in plenty of time. The appointment of Wilson was almost universally accepted as the best move but its simply not worked out. Lets not hide behind any statistical ppg averages, we needed a minor miracle and it hasnt worked. We should now be doing the sensible thing and preparing a team for League 1.

Send all the loan players back and pick 11 that will be here come August. Time to start again Im afraid.

It's not just this season though, every year a new team, a new manager. So funds isn't the issue, and I'll never call for Cryne to spend (more) money.

That said, what quality has Wilson brought in ?

Not sure we have eleven who we can guarantee will be here next season. Some of the kids, yes, but beyond them I'm not so sure - too many will be looking to move on.

Bringing Wilson in was last throw of the dice

but he's a different animal to when he first time, football has moved on and in the cold light of day, I will probably go down as yet another bad appointment. The sooner the club faces up to relegation the better in my book. If Wilson is to stay, he needs to start moulding a team for next season, which means game time for the younger players and formation/tactical set up that will bring wins against strong, physical, organised sides in League 1.

Can't disagree. But whilst ever we're 2 points from safety the illusion persists.

I'm glad we're going down after 8 years of struggle I want to see my team compete at the top end of the table for a change and I think given a season or two we could be a good top six league one side, with a play off campaign now and again winning more then 1 away game a season

Some of our players are League 1 experience

maybe thats a straw we can cling to. As unpopular an opinion as it will be, but Dawson is a player who we must keep for next season.

Can't send loan players back because we'd still have to pay their wages, like we're having to do for Shea.

I don't think he was sacked in plenty of time and some of the stories you hear about what was going off shock you, they really do. Plus add to this so me of the tripe he left us with like the two brought on last night and you really wonder how he got as long as he did.

I still believe that DW can lead us to either safety or to promotion from L1 but I don't think he will be around for the latter...

The reality of League 1 football

players like Dawson & Mvoto have recent experience and know whats required to get the job done. They're probably not good enough for the Championship, but we might go into League 1 with our eyes open and not expect to just roll teams over because that is not going to happen.

Definitely not going to happen. We are going to have a very small nucleus of players that might be good enough for that League. The thought of relying of M'Voto is sobering.

First issue to resolve is who will be in charge. My money is on Mellon.
