Danny Wilson was linked with the job, does anyone remember if he was interviewed? Or why he wasn't appointed before that Lancashire berk? Maybe his return isn't going to be as much of a certainty as many people believe

This is how it went down, according to a reliable source.

When Sheff Utd and ourselves were searching for a new manager, Danny Wilson was sounded out by Mr Cryne, but Wilson told him he already had a job lined up.

We proceeded to go after Keith. But Keith turned us down initially as he thought he was getting the Blunts job. The Blunts board allegedly interviewed Mark Robins and Keith Hill. But owner Kevin McCabe had already spoken to, and offered the job to Wilson. They had this chat in Malta I believe (somewhere like that) where they both own properties, next door to each other..

Keith then changed his mind and took our job, just as we were about to get serious with Russell Slade. Wilson was greeted by the 'shoes off' brigade at the stain. Robins took a year out and then rebuilt his career and now sits mid table in the Championship.

    So I'm told.

Just had a look at our past managers, apart from Eric Winstanley as caretaker our last Yorkshire manager was Jim Iley. Think we should start recruiting local. Then again maybe not, Warnock might come.
