It brought back memories of my teenage years in the 1970s, All Reds fans at school all seemed to adopt a first division side, with Leeds being one of the most popular due to the Don Revie era, Clarke, Hunter etc. Man Utd were always popular. I was Liverpool and wore a denim jacket covered in Liverpool sew-on badges. Never went to Anfield as I couldn't 't afford it and my parents would n 't let me anyway, (This was the decade of the rise of the football hooligan) I did attend Oakwell as often as I could afford it or if I was successful in climbing the wall and avoiding the red paint and glass. You saw very little in terms of BFC merchandise, but despite all the obvious Leeds, Man Utd, Liverpool merchandise on display, everybody seemed to be passionately behind the reds. The we are the right side, left side song would start and the back of the Ponty divided into 2. A bit of scuffling, pushing ensued but don't recall anything major.
I lost my Loose Liverpool allegiance as I got older and in particular our 2 promotions in 1978 and 1981. Then there was that League cup game at Anfield with about 16000 BFC fans in there. The scenes outside after changed my whole outlook on Liverpool fans, it was carnage. Having said that I thoroughly enjoyed the visits since, not least of all coz we haven't lost.
If you've read all this, thanks,

Always hated Liverpool from the premiership
Season then and willard did us good and proper that day and our fight was gone after that game. Willard, Micheal Owen and the Liverpool fans were a disgrace that day saw quite a few get hiding after game too. Hope Klopp doesn't work out horrible place horrible club.
