Thefirst goal we conceded was jsut awful.Colacepassed itstraight to their player who had a shot which came back off steele and Darren Mooreshowed once again that he cannotkick a ball that isn't on the ground by swinging wildly at it and missing completely. Then kozluk seemingly dove away from the ball as it was smashed into the net.
The third goal was even worse withtheir player given all the time in the world to cross intothe box where the striker was unmarkedinside the6 yard box. Not entirely sure who moore thought he was marking because he was stoodwith no reading player within 10 yards of himand the rest of the defence between them didnt manage to get within 4 yards of the striker.

And the penalty, was it the right decision or wrong one?
It looked to me like although steele just about touched the ball he went through the man to get it and brought him down. and this was after he'd been allowed to run again unmarked into the box.

Shocking defending for all three goals and just summed up why davey had to go

No need for Steele to come out so wide and make a challenge - whether it was a good one or not. He didn't exactly command his 6-yard box throughout the match either. No-one seems to want to criticise him, but his performance was as poor as any of the defenders yesterday.

He was awful yesterday and should have done better with all three to be honest. First one he didnt try to catch and punched it poorly twice, second one he didnt need to come wide (Though i can see why he did because the defence had lost the player completly. Was there another striker running in at the other side?) and the third one he definetly should have moved off his line and tried to stop it. I think by that point he had given up.

Thought the penalty decision was an awful one.

He got the ball. I still believe he had no need to get involved out there as Kebe was going nowhere, but he didn't foul him for me.

The 1st goal and 3rd goal, however, were inexcusable defending.

    Steele

I like Steele and still think he'll be a great keeper (still only 24 remember) but I thought he had a shocker yesterday.

He seems to have lost the confidence to catch high balls, particularly under pressure - every time Reading had a corner they had at least 2 men on him and he punched and flapped at every one. If he's gonna do that he has to work at getting much better contact on the ball.

As for the penalty, for me he got the ball but these things happen so quickly I can see why it was given. Main point for me though was what was he doing out there in the first place?

But then when the most experienced keepers (Almunia for one) do the self same thing I don't think we can be too hard on Luke.

    RE: Steele

For me has been the most consistent player this season despite the rush of blood for the penalty.

As for flapping and punching well the weather condition weren`t great for catching crosses under pressure yesterday.

He hasn`t been at all happy with the defenders in the last couple of games either a bit like the fans really.

It was a clear penalty - Steele slid in and completely took his legs away
