Put it down to a mixture of things. We missed Woodrow and Brittain. Our gameplay was ideal for Cardiff to just soak up and we don't have that plan B. We need to stop passing back when we are in shooting positions, happened 3 or 4 times today. Cardiff played their game very well. Maybe it could have changed the day had we got that pen decision, but we were 2nd best today, Cardiff deserved the win. We pick ourselves up and move on, take it on the chin after a decent run. Not sure what Kane has to do to get more game time. Also not sure why the sky commentary team are milking themselves over Moore, he aas average at best. Holliet and Wilson did the damage for me.
I saw that. For a lad who puts himself about a lot his goal return in this league is questionable. If he was more composed in front of goal he’d be a premier league striker and truth is he isn’t and never will be. Chases the money and thinks he’s better than he is
He might think he's better than he is but unfortunately it's quite obvious that Woodrow apart he's much much better than the front players we have in the squad, and there in lies the problem after 2 full transfer windows we still haven't replaced him.
We have to work really really hard both when we have or havnt got the ball for positive results in this league with our current squad . We not gonna get easy Games as Cardiff had tonight . If we work hard and with some luck we have a chance as we did Saturday but it all goes out of the window if we surrender possession as frequent and easily as tonight . We have been giving the ball away too cheaply on other occasions but imo tonight was another level .
We could replace with better if only the owners would stop being tight - always seems to be down to wages
If you add the transfer fees paid and wages for Schmidt, Chaplin, Adeboyejo, Frieser and Miller... thats going to be a decent amount of coin to get 1 or 2 decent players who can actually do something. I feel sorry for Miller and Adeboyejo in particular. Its not their fault they are being thrown in at the deep end and sadly aren't able to have impact when they were struggling in much lower leagues.
I don't see what Freiser offers to the party either. We have some truly woeful players in our squad. Schmidt, Miller, Adeboyejo, Freiser, Simoes and Thomas.
Woah there - Frieser looks quite decent in a front 3 with Chaplin and Woodrow, and he is still settling into the Championship - to say he is woeful is a bit wide of the mark. Simoes is young and inconsistent he has had some good games for us - yesterday wasnt one of them - he may come good he may not but one woeful game doesnt make him a woeful player. Not going to argue too much about the rest except to say I havent seen enough of Miller to have an opinion
I’m going on request a bet when the Rooney show comes to town and betting on how many Times Chaplin goes down as if scythed by a combine harvester when in good positions .
It's always interesting to hear what ex managers have to say about players and Mark Robins said Coventry got a good deal when they sold Chaplin to Barnsley.
Imo he goes down rather than try an attempt at goal . The number of times he does that and is dismissed almost every time by different refs tells me imo he’s either lacking confidence and or conviction for whatever reason . There were times when the ref could have easily given it as much as they dismissed them but there were occasions imo where Chaplin went down too easily. This is getting a regular occurrence in games with him imo .
Don’t all clubs do that to a degree though? I always felt that spell in December last year was a purple patch for him but still think he offers us something. He’s never going to get 25 in a season but his work rate and tenacity benefits us in my opinion. But I suppose if you have Frieser and Chaplin both offering work rate and not so much goals, there’s a lot of pressure on Woodrow to get the goals.
