I think we've had a great start to the season. Just because we've now lost a couple, I'm certainly not going to start getting on at the Head Coach, nor any particular players if they've had a bad game. We weren't promotion candidates after winning three matches on the bounce, so we're not relegation fodder after losing two, either. I have faith in Paul Heckingbottom, this squad of players and I can't wait for the Villa game on Tuesday night.
Unfortunately JLWBLil although you are correct in what you're saying I fear the board tonight will be heavy duty, especially the ones who only tend to post after a defeat. For me roll on Tuesday night.
They can say what they like, my old friend. It's a free country and the forum should be able to encompass a wide variety of views. After all, they (like me) will only be passing on an opinion. They certainly won't influence any change in my viewpoint.
Three of our defeats are to teams ahead of us now in the league, the fourth to Ipswich who were considered a top 6 team before the season, so no disgrace at all, it's been a tough start fixture wise and we are shooting above our status so far. COYR.
Last seasons play off semi finalists no less. Good side, with better players than us with no offence to any of our lads
Rather be in our position than Derby County, who have recently spent £20m+ on two strikers. I don't think Nigel Pearson will be in the job much longer.
We are terrible. Going down I reckon. Hecky has lost the plot, winnall is ****, MacDonald is a crap none leaguer and Watkins is rubbish on the wing. I think that covers it all doesn't it? MacDonald has done absolutely fine since he came in. Watkins is a better forward than winger in my opinion but is good enough on the wing too where just like anyone else he has some games that doesn't quite suit his strengths as much as in other games. Kent was knackered, Watkins was the most suitable replacement, winnall ALWAYS has a goal in him, heckys decisions to play both of them where he did is hardly cause for a public hanging and winnall has always and will always be a weaker 'all round' player than others in the squad. Absolutely nothing has changed from last season, hes the same player with the same knack of being in the right place at the right time and knocking in over 20 goals a season. His lack of all round amazingness is why he isn't at man utd, it certainly isn't anything to beat him with a stick over he will get the goals this season just like he did past season and the season before and the season before and he will do it without being an amazing all round player who holds the ball up and sets up loads of goals for other people. We didn't complain last year so why complain now when he is having one of his pretty regular dry spells just the same as last year. When that spell ends we will all be back to singing about him How have we ended up in a world where I'm not one of the negative ones?
I know, old mate, I know. These are definitely strange times we're living in! By the way, shouldn't it be 'non leaguer'?
Fortunately for me, unlike my forefathers, I live in a time where I can blame auto correct and nobody can prove otherwise.
Beaten by a good side today, 3rd best in division last season and looked quality all over the pitch today. Knockaert was just brilliant and Murray has been doing that for years. Thought we defended pretty well although they could have been out of sight by half time. Their first touch was better than ours, we couldn't hold the ball long enough. Some days you can only put your hand up and say the opposition played better man for man. And today was one of them. Disappointing but not disheartening. But this train journey home is rather quiet.
