    It could happen as well

From the BBC story on Lehman collapse

"There are fears AIG, once the world's largest insurer, could also face collapse. It is taking steps to raise money amid reports it is seeking a $40bn emergency loan from the Fed."

    RE: Yep

Im a bit surprised that one bank going bankrupt in US can have such an impact on the stock markets worldwide. I know it was a big bank but even so its had a hell of an impact.

Bet a lot of people sweating over the markets at the minute.

Good job I ant got two h'apennies to rub together

    I may be wrong

but i think they insured the "insolvent US bank" from going bankrupt. That's why they are in the ****!

It's gonna get a lot worse

The whole international finance market is to get hit like it's never been hit before.

    Apparently.

They are seeking $40 billion in short-term liquidity from the Federal Reserve system.
