If what he says about us wanting 500k is true then we're idiots! These clubs should be fighting against each seeing the price rise! Not 500k any takers?
I asked about the fee, and he said 500k. I asked why we weren't asking for more if there are now numerous clubs bidding. He said that the other clubs now know the fee we accepted from Swansea so won't pay any more for him. He reiterated the fact that the players wages and agents fee put off Swansea.
So say we now told clubs we wanted 1.5 million flat fee. Premiership clubs with big budgets thanks to TV deals etc would look at other options over what to clubs at that level is a measly 1 million quid more than originally wanted, especially when he'd fill a quota in the squad too? Then premiership clubs are stupid.
If we made him see his contract out could we command a fee because of his age? If that is the case at 500 grand he has got to be worth keeping.
And if he is the wonder kid he thinks he is then I am sure we could get more than the 500k that's being offered now. And if he don't perform seeing his contract out all the interested clubs will have moved on.
We must be awash with money if we are happy with 500k. I expect match day prices to come down pretty soon then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I said it as a joke in another thread. But seems we are actually desperate to get rid of him to continue our recruitment. At at any price it would now seem
Well, the lack of transfer fees spent, the release of Cranie, Jennings et al, the availability of Turnbull, Bailey and Lalkovic, the match day price increase, signing lads who've never earned much, Cryne's begging letter to non-renewals, all these things plus this speculated Holgate fee certainly give me an impression that we're either skint or tight. I don't recall the memo from BFC that hinted at this. I do though recall them sacking a manager which must have (again) cost the club hundreds of thousands of pounds and clearly recall them citing our finances, budget and attendances as reasons for booting him.
As I'm not so sad to waste my waking hours (any hours/minutes/seconds) on tw&tter... who the **** is Alan Nixon? And why should I take any notice of him? Genuine query.
