We managed to meet Alan Shearer as he was going to the commentary box on Saturday, my boy is a massive fan so Shearer asked if he wanted to sit in the box, "In Hansens chair"... he spent about 5 minutes just talking footy with my lad asking who he played for etc... What a nice fella, my lad was awestruck...

Nice bit of adversting for Barugh FC too well done... One of my mates was at the game doing some of the fund raising with Barugh for the NSPCC and he gave Avram Grant one of the Barugh Juniors calenders !! Still didn't smile ...
RE: Is that your kid Sundance? nt One for the mantlepiece, your lad will treasure that for life,he will be the envy of nearly every Newcastle fan.
I know it's not a popular opinion But I like Alan Shearer. I think he's a top bloke. I bet your lad was over the moon.
RE: I know it's not a popular opinion Overwhelmed is probably a better word mate...
He wasasking him who he played for and his position etc... He even showed Shearer his goalcelebration... (one arm in the air ala MrShearer) Alan thought it was great...
He probably won't really appreciate it until he's older...

How Very Strange!!! Having emailed the link for this excellent post to a handful of fellow reds to dispel the preconceptions that some people have of pro footballers, Adam Civico of the Barnsley Chronicle Newsdesk emails me asking for further details with a view to including the story in an FA Cup article in this weeks Chron! It would appear that somewhere along the line my email has made it's way to Chron HQ. I've replied to Adam suggesting that he posts a request on the bulletin board so that Sundance can reply.
