    Agreed

Public schoolboy type (not sure if he is) not good enough, Too posh to push.

    Strauss, captain boring.

Jimmy Anderson, if it don't swing "I'm ****"

Gotta to get these players into the next test team

    Harmison
    Rashid
    Botham
Onions & Mustard (just for catering rights)

    I'd make Pieterson open

with instructions to see off the new ball and get 100 on the board before he's allowed to try to sweep.

Hoggard must be laughing waiting for the phone call.

    To be honest

sweeping would result in an appointment with the firing squad.

    They can't play straight.

Leg side Larry's the lot of em, playing across the line. Play STRAIGHT YOU *****

RE: Harmison 5 wickets for 60 today

Big mistake not playing him after he'd bowled with such fire for the Lions.

Pitches nowadays are so lifeless that you need to have something about you, like Harmison does.

However, this series was never going to be the same because test pitches nowadays are so dead and lifeless.

Boring to watch as well. He finds run scoring hard to do at a decent strike rate.

    RE: Cook

Couldn't care less about him being boring to watch - Katich & Ponting were boring to watch. Just got to get the job done, and he didn't.

All down to Pietersen again - yet he gets abused time and again by the fans. We're almost a one-man team and we slaughter the one man. Ludicrous.

I agree we need to get Rashid and Harmison in the team for the second test. Based on this test match Swann and Broad should probably make way.

but pieterson isn a team player - thats why he gets slaughtered.

most talented player in world cricket. put never knuckles down and bats for the situation. he's only ever done it once in the test that won us the ashes, even then he got out.

Pieterson in the first innings looked to have got a tidy score until Australia batted and most of them felt like getting more than our top batter.

    Sorry but...

He knuckled down and dug us out the crap in the first innings. We were in serious trouble when him and Collingwood came together - and he made one mistake. He's played a very aware, slow knock with barely any boundaries, and he got outsmarted by the bowler. It happens.

Without him, Bangladesh would be running us close.

out-smarted! he threw his wicket away

his problem is that he thinks he can get after every bowler. He probably thinks Hauraritz doesnt derserve to be on the same pitch as him and he payed the price by playing a silly sweep shot. it wasnt the first time.

dont get me wrong, he's great and our best player by far but the annoying this is he could be the best batsmen in the world. but he isnt.

RE: out-smarted! he threw his wicket away

He went for a pre-meditated sweep - the bowler saw it coming and dragged the ball wider. Its clever bowling. Maybe he should have pulled out of the stroke, but the way he gets vilified for scoring bagfuls of runs is ridiculous when his teammates play like they're batting with a snooker cue.
