We need to move it around much quicker

I took that to mean JCR has been told to pass the ball rather than fanny around with it like he often does

Crisp one touch passing - sounds great.

    Overplay meaning dribble?

My glass is still half empty as yet. I will of course admit Im wrong if Robins does a Sven and insists that the keeper to roll it out from the back. I strongly suspect we are going to see a more direct style of play.

Lets see what team he puts out in the next 3 games.

If we were winning and playing direct would it bother you?

Awful to watch if you're losing but wouldn't bother me one bit if we were winning matches for a change.

Ask Watford and Stoke when they went up.

from what i gather I think Robins means more direct in general play rather than kick and rush as his rotherham team did like their pass and move footbal. They did chesterfield awith it last weekend

Glad to see someone is on the same wavelength as me. So far I like what I am hearing and it just needs transferring to the pitch.

    Ain't that what Davey played?

or was that football across the back four then hoof it up to the front two when we have been closed down by the opposition.

Only playing with words like you

Im in the glass half and half camp

Davey had to go - cup runneth over

Coppell, Jewell, Curbishley all out of work but we go for someone who worked wonders in the 4th Division cup not quite so full anymore

Brian Clough did but so did Steve Parkin so I am sitting firmly on the fence until we see how Robins does Halfway between Clough and a Parkin will do for this season.

That said he definitely has my full support (but I do reserve the right to change my mind as the season progresses)

Im not far away from your view, although Im enjoying pointing out how ridiculously extreme the criticism of Davey and his 'achievements' were at times.

Maybe a more direct style of play will work for us, my main concern being that some of our better midfield players will clearly not fit into that plan.

    Come on SM...

the football under Davey could not be described as pretty or short. In fact it is not really easy to give us a particular style under SD, as it was usually dictated by the opposition.
