Rumoured, Birmingham signing the left back for £1.3million from Hearts.

I’d like to say unbelievable money for a 3rd division defender but sadly where football is now.

 

Their Ray wasn't bad. Neither was uncle Eddie.

 

They paid about the same for their first choice left back last summer too. He's still got 4 years left on his deal. I think it's safe to say that Longelo will be on the move, so I'd expect that one to be announced shortly.

The sad thing about it is we won’t see money like that being invested, hard to believe that our record of £1.5m was 27 years ago, that must be £10m plus today.

 

They will still have to comply with the financial fair play rules so the SCMP. So unless they are going to keep a small squad of highly paid players, they will either have to rely on equity put in by the owners or risk breaching these rules.

I don't think they get any extra allowance having just been relegated do they?

I think they can spend a higher % of revenue, and some players contracts are excluded.
