The tweeter has a point and she's got herself noticed for her opinion. She's decent as a pundit but there is a list a mile long of better presenters. It was embarrassing she got the name wrong of Gianluca Vialli during his tribute at half time of the Gillingham vs Leicester match.

 

Can remember Lineker, Gabby and a few others making mistakes first few years of presenting , probably still do but have experience of covering up and making light of them ,
Probably being a woman isn’t why the tweeter is critical , Wonder what else it could be ?

 

Not read her tweets so apologies if she is actually a female Tommy Robinson, but.......does criticising a black person for being not very good at their job make u racist?

 

Personally I really like Alex Scott as a pundit, I’ve not seen the Vialli slip up, what did she call him?

 

She used well experienced presenters as examples , presenters who I remember performed nervously as Alex Scott has done on first few years debut .
I don’t know whether she’s racist or not snd as I said wonder what else it could be ?

 

Alex Scott is ameteurish could do with watching Laura woods.

 

It's shouldn't but currently it can easily be taken that way. The problem I suppose is in some examples that is the reason.

 

If you read rest of her tweets I think you could easily come to that assumption with comments like box ticker and woke etc

Ffs, can’t someone have an opinion on someone without it being anything to do with their gender, race, sexual orientation? I mean she might be Bernard Manning reincarnated for all I know - but nothing she said suggests any prejudice in forming her opinion.

I don’t think she’s a very good tv presenter to be honest. There are worse out there as pundits to be fair but I’d not be rushing to have Alex Scott anchoring too many shows.

I haven’t seen her slip up but I believe she paid tribute to ‘Gianvialli Luca’ - though that is just a slip of the tongue and I wouldn’t pass judgement on that in particular. I just don’t think she’s that great when I’ve watched her. But forced and not a natural speaker.

The fact she is female doesn’t influence that. Gabby Logan and Laura Woods as examples are excellent. The fact she is black/mixed race doesn’t figure. I think Jermaine Jenas is a very good orator. Ian Wright and Dion Dublin are great football pundits. Not sure about Dublin on homes under t’hammer like…

Am I a racist misogynist to say Scott is nowhere near as good as the likes of Gary Lineker, Mark Chapman, Jeff Stelling - just because they are white and male?

I will also point out at this point that I think Alan Shearer is absolute bilge as a pundit. His double standards are nearly as blatant as his bias, and not just bias towards Newcastle. But he’s nowhere near as bad as Martin Keown! Prefer motd when it features Wright, Micah Richards, Jenas, Danny Murphy.

And please don’t get me started on how much I am irritated by Sam chuffing Matterface… Whatever secrets he has in the itv execs must be massive as he is absolute garbage, and remains their premier commentator. It is ridiculous.

 

This is a good one. There are loads of good female presenters. Gabby Logan, Hazel Irvine, Sue Barker, Laura Woods, Claire Balding, Kelly Kates and many others. It gets like with government ministers where people get moved around to do different things. You can look at worldwide sport presenters like Renee Paquette and Erin Andrews. BBC wouldn't have Gary Lineker as a pundit or put Alan Shearer as lead commentator. Just leave Scott as a pundit where she's good.

Agree with a lot you say there mate......I actually think she is garbage and I said so in a previous post....I said she was out of her depth and unfortunately got the typical snide remarks as to why I thought that..... sometimes you give your opinion on here and some want to call you out for something you not......Gabby and Laura make her look a complete amateur for me......just my opinion btw!

 

Yes cos it says " embarrassing eg. of positive discrimination " ie her skin colour. She was a top footballer so more qualified than Gaby Logan. Who doesn't make a mistake? Jeff Stelling makes plenty!

 

Have to agree lots of really good female presenters/pundits out there but i have to say Alex Scott makes me want to mute the TV

 

It's obvious to me that Scott has a smelly fanny after too long in them leather trousers. I'd lick a bead of sweat from crack of her arse. It's shameful.
