Spoke to Donny boss Paul Dickov this morning and he mentioned he spoke to Adkins regards taking ALF on loan and the reply was "Available to any of the the bottom 8 or so clubs in the Champ but 100% of his wage to be pay which Dickov was told s 22k without the bonus'. So you can basically say we have not a cat in hell's change if we are quoted the same by Adkins.
Which of the bottom eight clubs have the financial clout to pay out £22k per week for a player that's not even theirs? It seems a somewhat impractical stance to adopt by Reading if they're truly wanting him off the books, even for a few months.
It's lita according to our friends at the star http://m.thestar.co.uk/sport/footba...s-weigh-up-move-for-ex-owls-striker-1-6369810
I'd be happy wi Leroy Lita. But **** me tho, ALF on £22k a week! That can't be reight surely? He's only ever been a bit part player for them and they only bought him for £350k. Can't imagine what Reading are paying players like Danny Guthrie and that!
premiership income leads to players being on stupid wages,i wouldn't put it past him being on 22k every week, even as a sub.
When Alfie left the Millers he was very close to the end of his contract hence the relatively low fee. He was in a very strong position, Reading had just been promoted and had the readies.
If a bigger club is wanting a player off Rotherham United they didn't try hard enough if he's on 22k. No wonder footie teams are screwed when clubs are offering wages like that to a guy who was playing in division four at the time. It's like Malkay last summer at Cardiff when he signed that guy from Denmark who was on 8k a week and gave him 45k to come to the English Premiership only to never play him. The guy would have jumped at leaving where he was for much less.
