would move seats or indeed buy a season ticket if the East lower had a designated singing section?

I seem to remember Man City saying in their fanzine before they moved to Eastlands what blocks all the singers would be going in so not to get split up.

This could workout out well because, all the folk who just want to watch the game(each to their own)or don't want to be up and down all game can continue to do so,and all the singers can stand/sit together in one or two blocks. No hassle for not joining in,this way we can generate more noise from the grounds biggest stand.I would suggest gangways 7 and 8 naturally coz they are the emptiest and are close to away fans for banter etc etc easy to police and steward

Brilliant idea and one to raise with the club

This is my 1st season supporting the reds (as ive been playing footie on Saturdays). Got a season ticket in the East Stand. When you stand up and sing, you get looked at as if yout Margaret Thatcher. Got my renewal form through the post this morning, binned it straight away as i cant wait to move into the Ponty End next season away from the ****** who tells you to sit down and stop singing (so he can fcking whinge all game, really puts you off going when your surounded by tossers who for example shout "fck off back to Sheffield" when Hecky made a misatke on his debut FFS).
I for one (+ 1) would sit in a singing section in the East (if not ill just sit in Ponty).
Huddersfield for one have a singing section to the right of the Away section and the atmospehere at Oakwell wuld definately improve with a singing section in the East and the Ponty end in full voice.

exactly, but if they made it into an offical singing section (piss easy) then the players will get extra backing every week (not just in big games) and the atmosphere will improve. Whats their to lose?

Why not just move to ponty end where a lot of people sing anyway?? Then that would be our singing end then plus its cheaper!

RE: Brilliant idea and one to raise with the club

I don't mind people singing (infact I usually join in as well) - it's people standing up so you can't see that piss me off....fortunately I don't usually have that problem because I'm sat right being an gangway so nobody directly in front of me.

I know what you mean though - no problem where I am with singing but when we played Norwich (and got relegated) I was in different seats as a couple of people were coming to game with me, and every time I was shouting or singing a guy in front was giving me some right looks.

Still best place in ground to be though for the view of the game

I think its better if you can get noise from two sides of ground
